𝗢𝗻 𝟮𝟴 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, the 𝗦𝗹𝗮𝗴𝟮𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 proudly participated in the 𝗘𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗣 𝗔𝗻𝗻𝘂𝗮𝗹 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟱, 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗱 𝗶𝗻 𝗨𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗲 (𝗜𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘆) — a key meeting point for Europe’s steel community and research stakeholders.

Edoardo D’Amanzo from RINA-CSM presented the talk:

“𝙎𝙡𝙖𝙜2𝘽𝙪𝙞𝙡𝙙: 𝙎𝙩𝙖𝙩𝙚 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝘼𝙧𝙩 𝙞𝙣 𝘿𝙧𝙮 𝙂𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙪𝙡𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙤𝙣 𝙤𝙛 𝙇𝙖𝙙𝙡𝙚 𝙁𝙪𝙧𝙣𝙖𝙘𝙚 𝙎𝙡𝙖𝙜”

 

The presentation introduced the 𝗥𝗙𝗖𝗦-𝗳𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗱 𝗦𝗹𝗮𝗴𝟮𝗕𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁 (GA 101193261), which aims to demonstrate a novel dry granulation technology for the treatment of Ladle Furnace Slag (LFS) — transforming this steelmaking by-product into a sustainable secondary raw material for the building sector.
 

During the session, our team highlighted:

 • The c𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝗟𝗙𝗦 valorisation and the limitations of current Best Available Techniques (BAT)

 • The innovative 𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗰𝗲𝗱-𝗮𝗶𝗿 𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘂𝗹𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 process developed by the consortium

 • The potential to stabilise 𝗯𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝘆𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗽𝗵𝘀 (𝗖𝟮𝗦) and enhance the cementitious reactivity of LFS

 • The 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝘃𝗶𝗿𝗼𝗻𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗹 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗶𝗿𝗰𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿 𝗯𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗳𝗶𝘁𝘀 of industrial-scale implementation
